Jill represents clients in state and federal courts in matters involving business disputes, constitutional rights, elections, government law and nonprofit law. She frequently advises organizations and businesses regarding election and campaign matters. Jill has written numerous complex initiatives regarding labor laws, taxes, and natural resources. She also has extensive experience in litigating an initiative’s ballot title and constitutionality.
Having worked as an attorney at all levels of the government (city, county, state, and federal), Jill is highly skilled at representing clients in cases involving government agencies, including public institutions of higher education.
When not advocating for her clients, Jill enjoys hiking, backpacking, and skiing with her family and friends. She also loves cooking (i.e., eating) and watching sports.
Jill’s diverse legal experience makes her uniquely qualified to represent clients in civil litigation. She gained invaluable litigation skills working as a federal and state prosecutor and as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice. She earned an in-depth understanding of politics and an appreciation for pragmatic policies while working for the U.S. Department of Justice as she advocated for the department’s policy priorities with the U.S. Congress, White House, and various federal agencies. She has also worked as an attorney and legislative director in the Oregon Legislature.
