Aryn Seiler

Senior Associate

Overview

Aryn’s practice focuses one-half on litigation and trial advocacy including fiduciary, torts, and employment matters.  The other half of her practice is dedicated to estate planning, and long-term care and Medicaid planning.  She has successfully represented national transportation clients, national corporate and small business clients, oil field clients in wrongful death and catastrophic injury suits, medical providers and other professionals in professional liability suits, and city and state governments at the appellate level.  Her estate planning clients are comprised of individuals, couples, and business owners.

Aryn feels deeply that the client is the most important aspect of her work as she serves as a translator and interpreter of law, a strategy counselor, a protector of client interests, and a guide through the legal process.

When she is not working, Aryn plays drums in her basement, practices archery, hikes (preferably in the winter) and keeps an eye out for music venues that book excellent local and touring bands. She also lives with Archie Schwartz, the most opinionated Miniature Schnauzer in the lower 48.

Experience

Prior to law school, Aryn was a night cabbie in Portland, Oregon.  At that time, she was elected in a city-wide public election to be the Cab Driver Representative to sit on the Private for Hire Transportation Board of Review, a subset of city council, and she assisted in the drafting of the Portland transportation code that governs taxi cabs, Uber and Lyft, town cars, limousines, pedicabs, party busses, and horse drawn carriages. Aryn studied for the LSAT while driving cab.

While attending Lewis and Clark Law School, Aryn represented clients in misdemeanor matters in both Oregon and Washington under the student representation rules of each state. And her article “Buried Alive: The Constitutional Question of Life without Parole for Juvenile Offenders Convicted of Homicide” was published in the Lewis and Clark Law review, Vol. 17, No. 1, 2013.
