Dan Bunch

Of Counsel

Judge Dan Bunch joined Lynch Murphy McLane in 2023 after serving 13 years as judge in the Klamath County Circuit Court. He brings 32 years of extensive experience as an attorney and judge. Prior to taking the bench, Dan was a military officer, District Attorney, a private practice attorney, and Klamath County Counsel. For 22 years, Dan was a military reservist, retiring as a Major General during 2021. Dan’s focus is arbitration/mediation, civil litigation, and probate / estate planning. He enjoys representing small business owners and local governments on a variety of legal issues. Dan has agreed to assist the Oregon Judicial Department as a Judge Pro Tem on an occasional basis.

When not in court, Dan spends his spare time with his wife, two Schnoodles, and one Harley Davidson.

As an active duty attorney (JAG) in the U.S. Navy and Air Force for 8 years, Dan developed expertise in navigating numerous complex regulations and laws. Additionally, he tried a large number of cases before military courts. As a District Attorney in Alaska, he was a top trial attorney. In Klamath Falls, Dan worked as a private attorney assisting small businesses with contracts, transactions and litigation. He also served as Klamath County counsel, developing an expertise in land use planning, the regulatory framework in which local governments operate, and employment law. As a Judge, Dan earned an exceptional reputation hearing complex civil litigation and disputes arising from probate. During the ten years preceding military retirement in 2021, Dan was assigned to the Pentagon where he routinely engaged the highest ranking members of the Department of Defense and the U.S. Government.

He is admitted to practice before all Oregon courts.
